The Impact Of Instagram

The immensely popular social media platform Instagram celebrated its 10-year anniversary this week. The app has been changing the way we post and interact with each other since October 2010, and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.


At the moment, the app boasts over 1 billion active users a month, so it’s no wonder that influencers, celebrities, agencies and businesses love Instagram for marketing purposes. The app provides a platform for people to showcase their best selves, follow along with those they care about, seek inspiration from artists, musicians, comedians, other creatives and provide an insight into the little things in life that make people happy!


Here at Saulderson, we started our influencer marketing journey on YouTube, and as we grow, have started to delve into the world of Instagram and work with influencers there. We have even signed an exclusive makeup artist Keziah Joy (@artbeautychaos), whose great engagement rates and dedicated fanbase of 278k have confirmed for us that Instagram is an extremely valuable tool and powerful platform if utilised well.


The value of Instagram really comes from the amount of creativity and posting options there are open to creators; the combination of main feed posts, IGTV videos, stories and more recently Instagram Reels really provides a lot of opportunities for expression. This level of variety makes Instagram a serious competitor to Facebook, Snapchat and TikTok, as people can do the same things and more all on the one platform – no other app provides so much variety!


In the rest of 2020 and beyond, we can’t wait to further explore Instagram as a platform and get involved in the wide range of communities and influencers there.
